


The Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested 43 individuals during a 24-hour special operation named ‘S Drive’ across the city. The crackdown, ending Friday (March 13), targeted drug trafficking, robbery, and juvenile gangs.
According to the CMP control room, the drive resulted in the seizure of 1,83,684 Yaba tablets. The largest haul—180,025 pills—was recovered under the Patenga Police Station jurisdiction. Additional seizures included 3,000 pills in Karnaphuli, 600 in Bakalia, 50 in Akbarshah, and 9 in the Bandar area.
Of the 43 arrested 19 face robbery charges. 14 were detained for drug-related offenses. 8 were identified as members of juvenile gangs. 2 were arrested for extortion and gambling.
CMP authorities stated that these operations are part of a regular initiative to curb crime and ensure public safety. They confirmed that such drives will continue across the metropolitan area.
