


The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has completed the selection of its primary candidates for five out of the six available seats in the Sirajganj district for the forthcoming 13th parliamentary election.
On the evening of Monday, November 3, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir unveiled the preliminary list of candidates nominated for 237 seats at the political office of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in Gulshan. He announced the nominations for 5 seats, leaving one seat in Sirajganj unfilled. The nominees for these 5 seats include BNP Standing Committee Member and former State Minister for Power, freedom fighter Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku for the Sirajganj-2 (Sirajganj Sadar and Kamarkhand) seat. In the Sirajganj-3 (Tarash-Raiganj) constituency, the nominee is District BNP Information and Research Secretary, former Raiganj Upazila BNP General Secretary, and former Chairman of Upazila Parishad VP Aynul Haque.
For the Sirajganj-4 (Ullapara) constituency, the candidate is former MP and BNP Central Executive Committee member M. Akbar Ali. In the Sirajganj-5 (Belkuchi-Chowhali) constituency, the nominee is BNP Rajshahi Divisional Co-Organizing Secretary Amirul Islam Khan Alim.
Lastly, in the Sirajganj-6 (Shahzadpur) constituency, the candidate is Dr. MA Muhith, son of former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of the Jatiya Party government, Dr. MA Matin. No candidate has yet been selected for the Sirajganj-1 (Kazipur and Sadar Partial) constituency, and according to party sources, the nomination for this constituency will be determined at a later date.
