The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast that rain accompanied by gusty winds and lightning is likely to continue across most parts of the country for the next five days.

According to meteorologist Md. Toriful Newaz Kabir, the trend of widespread rainfall may begin from Monday (May 25) and continue through the coming days, with the possibility of heavy showers in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. From Wednesday, the daytime temperature across the country may drop by 1–2°C.

In the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with temporary gusty winds are likely in many areas of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet. Some areas in Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Chattogram divisions may also see rain, while Khulna and Barishal may experience isolated showers. Heavy rainfall is possible in parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet.

A mild heat wave is currently affecting several districts, including Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Patuakhali, and parts of Khulna division, and it may continue for now.

From Wednesday onward, rain activity is expected to increase further across the country. Day temperatures may fall slightly by 1–2°C, while night temperatures are likely to decrease marginally or remain almost unchanged.

Rainfall activity is expected to persist through Thursday and Friday, with widespread showers in northern and northeastern regions and scattered rain in other divisions. The weather pattern suggests continued instability over the next five days.
