Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has extended Eid greetings to the nation ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Azha. He issued the message in a formal statement on Sunday (May 24).
In his message, the Jamaat chief highlighted that Eid-ul-Azha commemorates the historic sacrifices of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS), his wife Hazrat Hajera, and their son Hazrat Ismail (AS). He noted that the festival inspires the Muslim community to embody the spirit of absolute sacrifice to attain the pleasure of Almighty Allah.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman emphasized that the core lessons of Eid-ul-Azha can play a vital role in eliminating social disparity, removing exploitation, and establishing a just society. He urged citizens to fully embrace Islamic principles by practicing fairness across individual, social, and state levels.
Turning to the country's political landscape, the Ameer stated that while autocratic forces have fled, the nation is not yet entirely free from fascist elements. He cautioned that these groups are attempting to destabilize the country through conspiracies orchestrated from both abroad and within covert domestic networks. He called on citizens to remain united to thwart these actions.
The Jamaat leader asserted that the struggle must persist until a humane and just Bangladesh is fully realized. He urged the public to embrace the teachings of Eid-ul-Azha and actively support the establishment of Islamic ideals. Concluding his statement, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman wished the people of Bangladesh peace, prosperity, good health, and safety on behalf of himself and his party.
