A dramatic final day of the Premier League season brought contrasting fortunes to London on Sunday as Arsenal officially lifted the league trophy and Tottenham Hotspur narrowly escaped relegation, while West Ham United were condemned to the drop.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, who had already clinched the title in midweek, celebrated their crowning moment at Selhurst Park following a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.
The Gunners finished the season at the top of the table with 85 points, seven ahead of second-placed Manchester City. Manchester United secured third place with a 3-0 win against Brighton.
At the other end of the table, North London breathed a collective sigh of relief as Tottenham Hotspur secured their top-flight survival.
A scrappy, first-half goal from Joao Palhinha earned Spurs a tense 1-0 victory over Everton. That result condemned West Ham to relegation alongside Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley, despite the Hammers fighting to a futile 3-0 home win over Leeds United.
The final day also marked emotional departures. Manchester City suffered a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa in what was a sentimental farewell for manager Pep Guardiola, concluding a legendary 10-year tenure.
Aston Villa's victory secured them fourth place, while Liverpool grabbed fifth and a Champions League spot following a 1-1 draw with Brentford—a match that saw iconic forward Mohamed Salah and defender Andy Robertson make their final appearances for the Reds.
In individual milestones, Manchester City's Erling Haaland claimed his third consecutive Golden Boot with 27 goals this season.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes etched his name into the record books, recording his 21st assist of the campaign to surpass the single-season record previously shared by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
