


A training workshop focused on the hygienic slaughter of sacrificial animals and the proper preservation of skins was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium in Paikgachha, Khulna, on Monday morning. Organized by the Upazila administration, the event was held ahead of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Adha.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury presided over the session, while Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Partha Pratim Roy served as the primary resource person.
The workshop provided detailed guidance on slaughtering animals according to Islamic rules, maintaining environmental cleanliness, and using modern techniques to preserve hide quality.
Other notable attendees included Hafez Bilal Hossain (Supervisor, Upazila Islamic Foundation), Azhar Ali (Principal, Senior Madrasa), and Mufti Ashraful Islam Rahmani (Imam and Khatib, Model Mosque).
According to the organizers, local Imams, Khatibs, and citizens from various professions across the municipality and unions participated. The initiative aims to build public awareness and practical skills to prevent waste and environmental pollution during the festival.
