


Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) personnel have arrested two suspects including the prime accused in connection with the murder of 25-year-old construction worker Alinur Fakir in Lohagara Upazila, Narail.
The prime accused Rajib Sheikh (45), son of Jahangir Sheikh from Kumardanga village was apprehended from the Gangnia Bridge area under Satkhira Sadar Police Station on Tuesday night (July 21). The operation was conducted jointly by RAB-6 Jessore Camp (CPC-3) and Satkhira Camp (CPC-1).
RAB-6 Jessore Camp Company Commander Major Fazle Rabbi Prince confirmed the arrest and stating that Rajib was subsequently handed over to Lohagara Police Station for legal proceedings.
Earlier on Monday night (July 20), RAB-6 officers conducted a separate drive in Hasamdia village under Boalmari Upazila in Faridpur arresting the second named accused Rahman Sheikh.
Lohagara Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Ajit Kumar Roy confirmed that further legal action against both suspects is currently underway.
According to police sources Alinur Fakir was summoned near the Kumardanga Primary School around 10:00 PM on Sunday (July 19) under the pretext of settling unpaid wages. Upon arrival Rajib Sheikh and his associates fatally attacked Alinur before fleeing the scene. Following the incident, the victim's brother, Aminur Fakir filed a murder case at Lohagara Police Station naming Rajib Sheikh as the main suspect alongside five to seven unidentified accomplices.
