


Paikgachha police recovered the body of a 25-year-old tenant, Bishwajit Deuri from a locked room in a house on Hospital Road in Paikgachha Upazila Sadar on Tuesday afternoon. Police suspect he was killed with a sharp weapon.
The victim Bishwajit son of Heralal Deuri from Jhalokathi, worked as a sales representative for RFL Group's Vigo brand. For the past six weeks he had been sharing a ground-floor room in the building with another youth identified as 21-year-old Antar Sarkar from Madaripur. Antar has been absconding since the incident occurred.
The discovery was made after company representatives visited the residence looking for Bishwajit when he failed to report to work. Upon finding the room locked and noticing a bloody knife outside they alerted local authorities.
Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (D Circle) Amir Hamza and acting Officer-in-Charge Zulfikar Ali arrived at the scene, broke the lock and discovered the body inside.
Police noted that while Bishwajit's motorcycle was parked under the stairs Antar and his vehicle were missing. Authorities have called in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for forensic evidence collection and formal identification as the investigation proceeds.
