BGB Recovers 38 Bottles Liquor in Baghaichhari Raid

Border Guard Bangladesh (27 BGB) recovered 38 bottles of local Carew liquor during an anti-drug operation in the Nalbania area of Khedarmara Union of Baghaichhari Upazila in Rangamati.

Acting on a secret tip-off a patrol team led by Assistant Director Mohammad Hafizur Rahman conducted the drive at around 11:00 PM on Tuesday (July 21). Spotting the patrol team, suspected smugglers abandoned the contraband in roadside bushes and fled the scene. BGB personnel subsequently recovered the abandoned bottles, estimated to be worth Tk 57,000.

Lt. Col. Zahidul Islam Zahid the Commander of Marishya Zone (27 BGB), stated that the force maintains a zero-tolerance policy to protect youth from drug abuse. He added that surveillance and patrols will be intensified across border areas to curb illicit smuggling.
