


To revitalize sports activities across Kalia Upazila in Narail, 75 footballs were distributed to local athletes across 15 sports grounds with spanning 14 unions and one municipality. Under the Annual Development Program (ADP) project and five footballs were allocated to each venue.
Narail-1 MP Biswas Jahangir Alam presented the equipment as chief guest during a ceremony at the Kalia Upazila Parishad Hallroom on Tuesday evening (July 21).
Addressing the audience, MP Jahangir emphasized that regular sports practice is vital for physical growth, discipline, leadership and mental well-being in youth. He noted that encouraging athletic participation is essential to shield young people from drug abuse, screen addiction and social decay, calling on parents, educators and community members to support youth involvement in sports and culture alongside academics.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Jinnatul Islam chaired the event, joined by Kalia Police Station OC Md. Idris Ali, municipal BNP leaders, government officials, teachers, students and local sports enthusiasts. UNO Islam highlighted that field-based sports initiatives foster healthy recreation and reaffirmed the administration's commitment to supporting local sports development in the future.
