Walking Companions Champion in Football and Rope Pulling in Paikgachha

Kapilmuni Walking Companions and Paikgachha Walking Companions won the friendly football tournament and rope-pulling competition held in Paikgachha, Khulna.

The events were organized on Friday afternoon, May 15, at the Paikgachha Government College ground by the Walking Companions organization. Alongside football, traditional rural games including rope pulling and pot breaking were also held.

The football match between Walking Companions and Walking Companions Football XI ended in a 3-3 draw in regular time. In the tiebreaker, Walking Companions secured a 1-0 victory to become champions.

In the rope-pulling event, Walking Companions also defeated Walking Companions Football XI to claim the title.

Upazila Executive Officer Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury, expatriate Shamim Ahsan from Japan, and Walking Companions President Abdur Rahman participated in the traditional pot-breaking event.

The prize distribution ceremony was held after the games under the chairmanship of Walking Companions President MM Abdus Samad. Upazila Executive Officer Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury attended as chief guest, while expatriate Shamim Ahsan was present as guest of honor.

Among the special guests were former panel mayor and Upazila BNP member secretary SM Imdadul Haque, Advocate Mortaza Zaman Alamgir Rulu, Mirajul Islam Miraj, Ilias Hossain, Principal Utpal Kumar Bain, former principal Mihir Baran Mondal, Upazila Engineer Shafin Shoaib, Deputy Assistant Engineer Abdullah Al Mamun, Sajal Biswas, former councilor SM Taiyebur Rahman, Amaresh Kumar Mondal, Hadisuzzaman, Mosharraf Hossain, Gazi Shahidul Islam Khokon, Dr. Anwar Hossain, Jahangir Alam, Faisal Mahmud Apu, Sunil Kumar Mondal, Baburam Mondal, Kazi Jahangir Hossain, Saiful Islam, Gopal Chandra Mondal, Gazi Abdus Samad, Faisal Rashed Soni, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, Sheikh Hedayet Ali, Sanjay Kumar Mondal, Himadri Dey, Jagadish Dey, Ajay Sadhu, Samar Das, Dalim, Yusuf Sardar, Abdul Quddus and Prashant Mondal.

Journalists Abdul Aziz, Santosh Kumar Sardar and Muhammad Shafiar Rahman conducted the commentary, while Ramzan Hossain, Jamilur Rahman Rana and Prosenjit Mondal directed the games.
