


Diesel sales have officially resumed at the Jamuna Oil Floating Barge Depot in Jhalakathi after a two-year hiatus. The facility’s operations were inaugurated on Sunday afternoon by the company’s General Manager (Operations), Md. Jasim Uddin.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Depot DS Abul Bashar, Barisal Divisional General Secretary of the Tank Lorry Owners Association Mir Ahsan Parvez, and Jhalakathi Chamber of Commerce Director Jayanta Kumar Saha.
According to depot authorities, supply from the floating barge was suspended for two years to undergo essential repairs. With operations back online, the facility currently holds a reserve of 350,000 liters of diesel.
On the first day of resumed operations, 12,000 liters were sold to listed dealers. Officials confirmed that regular supply will continue from now on, a move expected to significantly ease fuel shortages for local farmers.
