Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) Chairman, Engineer Nurul Karim, has announced that the Karnaphuli Housing Society will be developed into the city's most modern and aesthetic residential area. Speaking as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting organized by the Plot Owners’ Association on Saturday, he dismissed rumors that building approvals are limited to four floors.

"We have already approved six-storey designs, and more multi-storey buildings are being cleared in accordance with CDA regulations," the Chairman confirmed.

During the visit, the Chairman inspected the progress of water connectivity from Chattogram WASA’s ‘Bhandaljuri Project.’ He was accompanied by a WASA engineering team led by Managing Director Monowara Begum. Engineer Nurul Karim urged plot owners to settle their service charges promptly to expedite these utility connections.

The Chairman also instructed relevant departments to fast-track pending design approvals for multi-storey buildings within the 519-plot project.

WASA representative Engineer Md. Golam Kibria Shakil noted that if water connections from the Bhandaljuri project commence within the next 15–20 days, owners can begin applying for individual plot connections.

The meeting was chaired by the association's acting president, Advocate Zia Habib Ahsan, with Professor Dr. Emran Bin Yunus attending as a special guest. Senior CDA and WASA engineers were also in attendance.
