Agriculture Incentives Distributed to 1,950 Farmers in Lohagara

The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) distributed free seeds and fertilizers to 1,950 small and marginal farmers in Lohagara Upazila on Monday. The distribution, held under the Agricultural Incentive and Rehabilitation Program for the Kharif-1 season (FY 2025-26), aims to boost local crop production.

Narail-2 MP Ataur Rahman Bachchu inaugurated the program as the chief guest. The ceremony was presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shammi Kaiser, with acting Upazila Agriculture Officer Munmun Saha delivering the welcome address.

According to agricultural officials, the distribution was categorized by crop type.

Jute 1kg seeds, 5kg DAP, and 5kg MOP fertilizer per farmer. Sesame 1kg seeds, 10kg DAP, and 5kg MOP fertilizer per farmer. Moong Dal 5kg seeds, 10kg DAP, and 5kg MOP fertilizer per farmer.

Other speakers included Agricultural Extension Officer Sheikh Salman Zaman and local representatives. Officials from various departments, journalists, and beneficiary farmers attended the event.
