Special Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) rice was distributed among 4,625 low-income families in Paikgachha Municipality on Monday ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The distribution ceremony, held at 8:00 AM at Paikgachha Government High School and Model Government Primary School, was led by Municipal Administrator and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wasiuzzaman.

According to Municipal Executive Officer Md. Lalu Sardar, the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief allocated a total of 46.25 metric tons of rice for the municipality. Each of the 4,625 selected families across nine wards received a 10kg sack of rice.

Key officials present at the event included Upazila Executive Engineer Md. Shafin Shoaib, Senior Fisheries Officer Saikat Mallik, Social Service Officer Anath Kumar Biswas, and members of the local police department who assisted in maintaining order.
