


A mobile court led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Mosa. Nabila Ferdous fined several individuals a total of 60,000 taka for illegal soil cutting and price manipulation on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off regarding unauthorized soil excavation from agricultural land, the magistrate conducted a raid in the Ganguria Mouza area. The court halted the operations of a vacuum engine used for the excavation and imposed a 60,000 taka fine on the spot.
Additionally, the mobile court inspected shops in Saraigachi Bazar. Fines of 5,000 taka each were levied against Nazrul Islam and Rezaul Islam, while Ramzan Ali was fined 1,000 taka. The penalties were issued for failing to display price lists and for artificially inflating the price of baby food.
Magistrate Nabila Ferdous confirmed the actions, stating that shopkeepers and hawkers have been warned. She emphasized that strict legal measures will continue against those violating public interest regulations.
