


A mild earthquake shook parts of Bangladesh on Thursday afternoon, marking the second tremor to hit the country in less than 13 hours. The latest earthquake occurred at 12:04 pm on February 26.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the tremor measured 3.7 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was located in Sikkim, India, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The geographic coordinates were recorded at 27.211° N latitude and 88.215° E longitude.
This followed a more significant tremor felt across the country, including the capital, at 10:51 pm on Wednesday. That earthquake, measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale, originated in Myanmar at a depth of 101 kilometers. Its epicenter was approximately 112 kilometers from Monywa in Myanmar’s Sagaing region.
No casualties or structural damages have been reported from either incident.
