


Six people injured in a gas filling station explosion in Cox’s Bazar have been admitted to the burn unit of Chattogram Medical College Hospital, doctors said on Thursday.
Associate Professor Dr Rafiq Uddin Ahmed of the burn unit said the victims suffered between 20 and 90 percent burns. Their conditions are critical due to respiratory complications.
The explosion occurred on Wednesday night at a newly built gas station in Kolatoli, triggering a fire that left at least 15 people injured. The six admitted to Chattogram were the most severely burnt.
Those hospitalised are Abdur Rahim (32), Abu Taher (40), Abul Kawser (27), Sakib (30), Motaher (45) and Siraj (30). Doctors said Taher suffered about 90 percent burns. Rahim sustained 50 percent burns, Siraj 40 percent, Sakib 30 percent, and Kawser and Motaher about 20 percent each.
Hospital authorities said the patients are under close observation.
