Chandgaon Flood Victims Receive Food Aid From MP Ershad Ullah

Families affected by waterlogging caused by recent heavy rain and tidal flooding in Chittagong received food supplies from Chittagong-8 MP Alhaj Ershad Ullah on Saturday.

The relief items were distributed among affected families in the Baro Bari Nath Para area of North Chandgaon.

The program was organized by the Chandgaon Ward unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its affiliated organizations.

Speaking at the event, Ershad Ullah said helping people affected by natural disasters is a social and moral responsibility.

“The welfare of the people is our commitment. We are making every effort to ensure necessary assistance for those affected by the disaster,” he said.

He said BNP leaders and activists have historically remained involved in relief and humanitarian activities during periods of crisis and would continue to support affected communities.

The MP also said the party was working to reduce the hardship of vulnerable people under the direction of BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The event was chaired by Ilias Chowdhury, convener of BNP’s Ward No. 4 Chandgaon unit.

Among those present were social worker and Daily Bangladesh Bulletin Resident Editor Sanjib Nath; former Chittagong Metropolitan BNP Forest and Environment Affairs Secretary Shawkat Ali; former Law Affairs Secretary Advocate Siraj; metropolitan BNP member Syed Shihab Uddin Alam; and several leaders of BNP, Jubo Dal, Mahila Dal and other affiliated organizations.

The relief initiative comes as several parts of Chittagong continue to face waterlogging and hardship following heavy rainfall and tidal water intrusion.
