Flood victims in Banshkhali, Chattogram, have received cash assistance as part of a rehabilitation initiative carried out on behalf of BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
BNP central leader Mofizur Rahman Ashiq distributed the financial assistance to affected residents during a visit to flood-hit areas of Banshkhali Municipality on Saturday (August 1).
Speaking during the visit, Ashiq said helping people affected by the recent floods is a collective moral responsibility.
“Banshkhali suffered significant damage in the recent severe flooding. We have provided cash assistance on behalf of Tarique Rahman to support the rehabilitation of affected residents in the municipality,” he said.
He added that coordinated efforts by the government, political parties and people from different sections of society could help reduce the suffering of flood-affected communities.
“Our assistance will continue so that affected families can return to normal life as quickly as possible,” Ashiq said.
Chattogram Metropolitan Jubo Dal leader Abul Kalam Azad, Chattogram University Chhatra Dal Joint Secretary S.M. Ashek Ullah, Banshkhali Municipality Chhatra Dal leader Jihan and Upazila Jubo Dal leader Helal Uddin were among those present during the distribution program.
