U.S. Business Delegation to Visit Bangladesh to Explore Investment Opportunities: Sergio Gor

U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs Sergio Gor has said that American businesses are interested in investing in Bangladesh and that U.S. business representatives will visit the country to assess potential investment opportunities.

Sergio Gor held a meeting with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Prime Minister’s Office on Saturday (August 1).

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Gor said, “It was a productive meeting with the Prime Minister. U.S. investors will visit Bangladesh and hold discussions. During those meetings, they will assess which sectors offer potential opportunities for investment.”

The meeting also covered bilateral trade and investment between Bangladesh and the United States, as well as issues of mutual interest.

The U.S. special envoy had earlier visited Rohingya refugee camps in Ukhiya and Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar on Friday.

During the visit, he held discussions with relevant government officials, representatives of international organizations and those involved in humanitarian assistance programs.

Gor arrived in Dhaka on July 30 for a three-day official visit to Bangladesh.
