Interpol Red Notice Issued Against Tulip Siddique

A Dhaka court on Thursday ordered the issuance of an Interpol Red Notice against Tulip Rizwana Siddique, niece of Hasina, over allegations of power abuse and the illegal acquisition of property.

Judge Md. Sabbir Faiz of the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court passed the order following an application by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). The court’s bench assistant, Md. Riaz Hossain, confirmed the development.

The ACC informed the court that Tulip Siddique is accused of illegally acquiring a flat in Gulshan-2 from Eastern Housing Limited by abusing her political influence. The investigation officer noted that the accused has left the country and is allegedly attempting to tamper with evidence.

Previously, on February 18, the court issued arrest warrants for Tulip Siddique and Sardar Mosharraf Hossain, a former assistant legal advisor for RAJUK, after accepting the ACC’s formal charges.

The case, initially filed on April 15, alleges that Tulip Siddique, Mosharraf Hossain, and associate Shah Md. Khasruzzaman conspired to occupy and register the property without payment. The court has set March 8 for the submission of the warrant execution report.
