


A four-day rehearsal programme has begun at (PSTU) ahead of an upcoming conference being organized under the Child-Centered Anticipatory Action (CCAA) project implemented by Jago Nari.
The first day of rehearsals was held successfully on Tuesday (24 February) at Bakul Tala, the open space in front of the university’s TSC. The preparatory activities ran from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. According to the organizing committee, rehearsals will continue for four consecutive days, while the main conference competitions and presentations are scheduled to take place on 1 and 2 March.
Present to oversee and supervise the first day’s rehearsal activities were the Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Science and Disaster Management (ESDM), Professor Dr. Md. Mohsin Hossain Khan, along with Professor Dr. Md. Shamsuzzoha and Assistant Proctor Dr. Md. Tarikul Islam Sajib. They visited different segments of the rehearsal and provided guidance to improve the quality of students’ presentations and exhibitions.
Around 180 students from PSTU and are participating in the rehearsals. In line with the conference framework, activities are being conducted across five segments: poster presentation, debate session, proposal development, cyclone model exhibition, and art exhibition with wall magazine presentation.
In the poster presentation segment, three teams from PSTU and two teams from the University of Barishal took part. Two PSTU teams participated in the debate session, four teams competed in proposal development, and one team presented in the cyclone model exhibition. In the art exhibition and wall magazine presentation segment, one team from each university participated.
At the closing stage of the rehearsal, participating students were given tokens of appreciation and refreshments. The first day’s programme concluded with group photographs and a cordial exchange among participants.
