Advance Train Ticket Sales Begin Nationwide for Eid Travel

Advance train ticket sales for the upcoming Eid Festival Travel have started, with all tickets available online only.

Bangladesh Railways began selling advance tickets for the western region at 8:00 am on Tuesday. Tickets for travel on March 13 were released first. Sales for the eastern region will begin at 2:00 pm the same day.

The online ticket sale will continue until March 9. Tickets for the return journey will be sold from March 13 to March 18.

According to Rezaul Karim Siddiqui, public relations officer at the Ministry of Railways, intercity train tickets for the western region went on sale in the morning, while eastern region tickets will be available in the afternoon, he told Business Times.

March 15 tickets: March 5

March 16 tickets: March 6

March 17 tickets: March 7

March 18 tickets: March 8

March 19 tickets: March 9

Railway officials said each passenger can buy tickets only once for the Eid journey using a National ID (NID). A maximum of four seats can be purchased in a single transaction.

There will be no refund or ticket return under any circumstances.

For passengers who fail to secure tickets online, the railways will allow the sale of 25 percent standing tickets from the departure station before the journey. These tickets apply only to non-AC coaches.
