The deserving students receiving scholarships today are expected to establish themselves in the future and contribute to society. If those of us who are self-sufficient support the underprivileged and deserving students voluntarily, they too will eventually attain a higher status in society.
This statement was made by Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid, the Secretary of the Council of Ministers, during his address as the chief guest at the Faridpur Foundation Scholarship Program.
The scholarship program was chaired by Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Kamrul Hasan Mollah, with BERC Chairman Jalal Ahmed serving as the special guest.
Held in the conference room of the Faridpur District Administration, the event awarded scholarship funds to 57 deserving students from various educational institutions within the district. Since 2003, the Faridpur Foundation has consistently provided scholarships to support the education of deserving and underprivileged students in Faridpur, typically offering salaries, clothing, bags, educational supplies, and cash.
Among the attendees were Civil Surgeon Dr. Mahmudur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police Shamsul Azam, Professor MA Samad, Professor Abdus Samad, prominent businessman Mainuddin Monir, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Education and ICT Sushmita Saha, and Member Secretary of the Faridpur Foundation Mofiz Imam Milon, among others.
The chief guest remarked, "To those receiving scholarships, I want to emphasize that poverty or helplessness does not define you; you are all talented, and that is your true identity. Society has a greater responsibility towards talented individuals, and I trust you will embrace that responsibility."
He encouraged the students, saying, "Your aspirations are lofty, and to achieve those goals, you must dedicate yourselves to your studies. Your efforts will ultimately benefit your parents, community, and country."
