A mobile court has fined Tk 50,000 and demolished the drum chimney of a brick kiln owner in Nalchiti, Jhalakathi.

The operation was conducted at SRB Bricks in the municipal area of the upazila on Monday (December 22). The operation was conducted by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Rizvi Ahmed Sabuj.

At the time, he said, the owner of SRB Bricks in the municipal area, Afzal Mridha, was fined for violating the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act. In addition, the fire in the kiln was extinguished with water with the help of the fire service. He said that the operation will continue in the public interest.
