The Traffic Division of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has installed new traffic signs at important intersections in the city.

The main objective of this initiative, taken under the instructions of the Police Commissioner and under the supervision of the Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic), is to make the movement of vehicles on the city roads safer, more orderly and smoothly.

As a result of the installation of new traffic signs, ordinary pedestrians and drivers will get correct instructions. This will play an important role in reducing traffic congestion on the roads and preventing road accidents.

Traffic department officials said that using correct instructions and marked routes will make it easier to control the speed of vehicles on the city roads and reduce the risk of accidents. In addition, the Traffic Department has intensified its campaign against battery-operated rickshaws and other illegal vehicles. Through this step, the number of unwanted vehicles on the roads will be brought under control. This will further ensure a safe and dynamic traffic system.

A CMP release stated that the Traffic Department attaches utmost importance to the awareness and cooperation of citizens. They have specifically requested that citizens follow traffic signs, refrain from using illegal vehicles, and cooperate with the Traffic Department in maintaining a safe road system in the city.

The police hope that with the active cooperation of citizens, the roads of Chattogram will be safer, more orderly, and more dynamic. This initiative will make the daily commute of the city easier and safer, as well as play an important role in reducing traffic congestion and road accidents.
