


The Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) will enforce special traffic restrictions and diversions across key city roads from 2:00 pm on Thursday (July 16) to ensure the safe and smooth movement of Rath Yatra processions.
In a notice issued on Wednesday (July 15), CMP said three major Rath Yatra processions will take place in the city with the participation of thousands of devotees. Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.
The Sri Sri Tulsidham procession will begin from Tulsidham and travel through Rifle Club, New Market, Kotwali, Laldighi, Andarkilla, Cheragi Pahar, Press Club, Kazir Deuri, Love Lane, Buddhist Temple and Nandankanan before returning to its starting point.
The Sri Sri Radhamadhav Temple (ISKCON) procession will start from DC Hill and pass through Cheragi Pahar, Andarkilla, Laldighi, Kotwali, New Market, Amtal and Bose Brothers More before ending at Nandankanan.
Another procession organized by ISKCON will begin from Pravartak Sri Krishna Mandir and travel through Golpahar, Mehedibagh, Chatteswari, Kazir Deuri, Jamalkhan, Cheragi Pahar, Andarkilla, Laldighi, Kotwali, Cinema Palace and Bose Brothers More before reaching DC Hill.
Traffic diversions will be in effect at major intersections, including Badsha Mia Road, WASA, Stadium Roundabout, Naval Intersection, Noor Ahmed Road, Enayet Bazar, Tinpole, New Market, GPO, Kotwali, Laldighi, Cinema Palace, Andarkilla and Goods Hill.
CMP said vehicle movement along the procession routes will be controlled and urged residents to follow traffic police instructions and use alternative roads where necessary.
