The Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) has issued special instructions under Section 144 around all examination centers in Chittagong to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming HSC (BM/Vocational) and Alim examinations starting Thursday (July 2).
According to a public notice signed by CMP Commissioner Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali on Monday (June 29), the restrictions will apply within a 200-yard radius of each center. The order takes effect one hour before the exams begin and remains in place until one hour after they end.
During these hours, carrying weapons, sticks, or explosives is strictly prohibited. Public gatherings, processions, shouting, and the use of loudspeakers or microphones are also banned near the centers.
To prevent question paper leaks and unfair means, the CMP has ordered all nearby photocopy shops to remain closed during exam hours. Furthermore, no unauthorized individuals will be allowed within the 200-yard perimeter; only examinees and official duty personnel may enter.
The CMP confirmed that these rules will remain active on every exam day starting July 2, and legal action will be taken against violators.
