


Following a surge in vehicle thefts across the city, Kotwali Police arrested seven members of a professional motorcycle theft gang during an overnight raid on Saturday. The operation led to the recovery of two stolen motorcycles and the identification of a widespread criminal network.
The arrests were made across various locations in Faridpur Sadar Upazila by a team led by SI Nur Hossain. The crackdown was initiated in response to several recent theft cases filed at the Kotwali Police Station.
According to police, the gang members are habitual offenders specializing in stealing motorcycles and auto-rickshaws.1 Key findings from the investigation include:
The group utilizes a "master key" capable of starting almost any motorcycle model. Most of the suspects had been arrested previously for similar crimes but resumed their illegal activities after being released on bail.

Faridpur Kotwali Police Station OC Shahidul Islam confirmed that the suspects were sent to court on Sunday afternoon. He noted that the investigation is ongoing to apprehend remaining gang members and recover more stolen property.
