


A senior leader of the National Workers' Power (Yuva Shakti), an affiliate of the NCP, was shot by unidentified miscreants in Khulna city on Monday. The victim, identified as Motaleb Shikder (40), serves as the divisional committee representative for the organization.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:15 PM in front of the Gazi Medical College Hospital in the Sonadanga area, sparking immediate panic in the vicinity.
Motaleb Shikder was targeted by miscreants in broad daylight. According to witnesses, the attackers opened fire and fled the scene immediately. The victim sustained a critical gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH), where doctors described his condition as extremely grave.
Following the shooting, a team from the Sonadanga Model Police Station arrived at the crime scene and the hospital. Second Officer Animesh Mondal confirmed the incident, stating that law enforcement is currently gathering evidence and tracking the perpetrators.
While the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, police are investigating whether the attack was politically motivated or the result of a personal dispute. No arrests have been made as of Monday afternoon.
