This was confirmed through seven individual letters signed by Ramganj Upazila Primary Education Officer (F: Da:) Fatema Ferdousi on Thursday morning, December 4.
The teachers who received the notices include: Assistant Teacher Abul Bashar from Nagmud Bazar Government Primary School in Ramganj Upazila, Assistant Teacher Priyanka Rani Bhowmik, Ferdousi Begum, Acting Headmaster Maqbul Hossain of Joypura SRMS Government Primary School, and Assistant Teachers Nurun Nahar, Mehedi Hasan Farid, and Marjina Akhter.
Sources from the Primary Education Office stated that Abul Bashar announced an exam boycott on his personal Facebook page and held a press conference without authorization. This is a violation of government employee conduct. Maqbul Hossain, along with Nurun Nahar, Mehedi Hasan Farid, and Marjina Akhter, were noted for their absence during a school inspection by the Deputy Commissioner on December 3. Additionally, Priyanka Rani Bhowmik and Ferdousi Begum were also absent during an inspection by the District Primary Education Officer. Their actions constitute a breach of government employee conduct as they boycotted the third quarterly evaluation exam, causing uncertainty in the educational experience of young children.
The complaint letter addressed to Abul Bashar stated that according to the revised 2011 guidelines, announcing the exam boycott on your personal Facebook ID is a punishable offense against government employee conduct. They refused to take the 3rd quarterly evaluation exam. This has caused confusion in the educational lives of young children.
