Government Offices, Banks and Insurance institutions across Bangladesh resume operations today after a seven-day Eid-ul-Fitr holiday.

Office hours return to the regular 9:00 am to 5:00 pm schedule. With the holiday ending, employees and professionals have started returning to Dhaka, increasing pressure at major transport hubs including Bus terminals, Rail stations and river ports.

Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated nationwide on March 21. The government holiday ran from March 17 to March 23.

The newspaper sector also resumes work today after a five-day break declared by the Newspaper Owners’ Association of Bangladesh.

With offices reopening, normal administrative and economic activities are set to resume across the country.
