Police in Sadullapur upazila, Gaibandha, have successfully solved the mystery surrounding the murder of Asadul Juaru, almost one and a half years after the crime. Two suspects, Habibur Rahman (45) and Seema Akter (21), were arrested in a recent special operation, unraveling a case rooted in an immoral relationship, prostitution, and business disputes.

The investigation revealed that the deceased, Asadul, and the arrested Habibur were friends who had been using Seema for prostitution and fittings business transactions for an extended period, leading to conflicts over money and the gambling business.

Tension arose when Asadul's second wife, Bela Begum, learned of the relationship and prostitution arrangements involving Seema. InJune 7, 2024, Seema called Asadul to meet her. They met at the BTC intersection where Asadul found Habibur and Seema preparing to leave for Dhaka. A heated argument ensued but was settled by locals. June 8, 2024 (Approx. 9 PM), Habibur called Asadul, inviting him to play a gambling game. Asadul subsequently told his wife he was going to Dhaka. His phone was switched off thereafter. June 9, 2024 (Approx. 6 PM), Asadul's body was recovered by police, floating under a high bridge in Ekaparpur village.

Finally November 11, 2025, SI Supad Halder, utilizing information technology, arrested Habibur Rahman and Seema Akhter in a special operation.

Police confirmed that Habibur and Seema fled to Dhaka immediately after the murder, where they married. They have since divorced. The investigation's initial findings suggest the murder was motivated by business interests and mutual conflict stemming from their joint activities.

The deceased's brother, Mominul Islam, had filed the initial murder case. The current success is credited to SI Supad Halder of Dhaperhat Police Investigation Center, who was lauded by the Sadullapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Taj Uddin Khandaker, for solving the sensational and previously clueless case. Local residents have expressed satisfaction with the police's swift and accurate investigation.
