2 Killed, 5 Injured in Gaibandha Road Accident

Two people died and five others were injured after a covered van collided with an autorickshaw in Sadullapur, Gaibandha, on Tuesday afternoon. The accident occurred near the Shahana Filling Station in the Mandua area on the Gaibandha-Sadullapur road.

The deceased have been identified as the autorickshaw driver, Alamin (35), son of Belal Hossain from Tarafbajit village, and Gautam (65), a businessman and son of Narayan Chandra from Gaibandha Purbapara.

According to eyewitnesses, a speeding covered van bound for Sadullapur struck the autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction. Both victims died at the scene. Locals rescued the five injured passengers and admitted them to the Sadullapur Upazila Health Complex, where two remain in critical condition.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadullapur Police Station, Abdul Alim, confirmed the fatalities and stated that legal proceedings regarding the incident are currently underway.
