The Cabinet Division has issued a fresh directive mandating that all government employees strictly adhere to official office hours. This order applies to all personnel working in government, semi-government, autonomous, and semi-autonomous organizations.

In a letter dispatched on Tuesday (February 24) to all ministries, divisional commissioners, and deputy commissioners, the Division emphasized the necessity of punctuality in both arrival and departure.

The directive cites the Government Employees (Regular Attendance) Rules, 2019 and the Secretariat Instructions, 2024, noting that compliance with specified working hours is mandatory. Authorities have been asked to ensure these rules are implemented across all subordinate departments.

Furthermore, the letter clarified that field-level officers and employees must obtain prior permission from their respective authorities before leaving their workstations during weekly or public holidays.
