


A former leader of the BNP’s volunteer wing was shot dead and a Jubo Dal activist was injured by unidentified assailants near the Bashundhara City Shopping Complex tonight.
The incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. in an alley near Star Kabab in the Tejturi Bazar area. The victim, Azizur Rahman Musabbir, was the former general secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Swechhasebak Dal.
Abu Sufian, a Jubo Dal activist and general secretary of the Tejgaon Thana Van Workers' Union, also sustained bullet injuries in the attack.
Fazlul Karim, Additional Deputy Commissioner of the DMP’s Tejgaon Division, confirmed the shooting. According to police, the victims were first taken to BRB Hospital and later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors pronounced Musabbir dead.
Assailants reportedly fired five rounds at Musabbir during the ambush.
Following the shooting, Jubo Dal leaders and activists blocked the Karwan Bazar intersection at approximately 10:00 p.m. in protest. Police are investigating the motive behind the attack.
