BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee stated, 'The first vote of the youth should be cast in favor of the paddy sheaf. The youth have been unable to vote for a long time.
This time, they will exercise their right to vote. Whenever the paddy sheaf is on the ballot, it will emerge victorious. In 2001 and 2008, you supported me with the paddy sheaf. In this region, paddy is present in every household, along with the names of Ziaur Rahman, Khaleda Zia, and Tarique Rahman. Therefore, whenever elections occur, the paddy sheaf prevails.'
He expressed these sentiments as the chief guest at a youth rally supporting the paddy sheaf, organized by BNP-Yubdal, Swechchhasebak Dal-Chhatra Dal, and other groups in the Karaitala area of Ward No. 15 in Lakshmipur Municipality on Monday evening, November 24.
Shahid Uddin Chowdhury remarked, "President Zia proclaimed Bangladesh's independence at the young age of 36. He was a soldier, a major. During the war in Bangladesh against the Pakistani occupation forces, he took charge of the fight. He battled with weapons in hand on the front lines. It was his call that inspired the youth to join the war. He is recognized as the proclaimer of independence." He further stated, "Those who, lacking the satisfaction of Allah, faith in Allah, and love for Allah, merely wish to utilize their party as a means to practice Islam, are not adhering to true Islam. The Islam of Medina represents authentic Islam.
Maududi's interpretation of Islam is not genuine; it is the Islam of Pakistan." Even Maududi's own son opposed his father's views. Those who go door to door promoting Maududiism and Maududi's version of Islam, seeking to grant Jamaat certificates of heaven and discussing paradise, are engaging in shirk. This is unacceptable; a political party can never issue tickets to paradise. My faith, beliefs, and actions in this life will determine my fate in the afterlife. My paradise will be contingent upon my deeds.'
Present at the event were district BNP members Nizam Uddin Bhuiyan, Abul Hashem, Mahbubur Rahman Liton, Rezaul Karim Liton, the President of Lakshmipur Municipal BNP, BNP leader Lokman Hossain, Abdul Alim Humayun, the President of District Jubo Dal, General Secretary Syed Rashidul Hasan Lincoln, Mohsin Kabir Swapan, the President of District Volunteer Dal, General Secretary Harunur Rashid, Faiz Ahmed, the Convener of Lakshmipur Municipal Jubo Dal, Mansur Ahmed, the Member Secretary, Hasan Mahmud Ibrahim, the President of District Chhatra Dal, and General Secretary Abdullah Al Mamun.
