Bangladesh Coast Guard arrested a suspected drug dealer with 1 kilogram of cannabis during a late-night drive in Bhola.

The arrested person, Md. Murad (26), is the son of Md. Abul Kalam of Ward 1, Ali Nagar area under Bhola Sadar upazila.

According to Lt. BN Md. Abul Kashem, Media Officer of the Coast Guard South Zone, the operation was conducted around 11:00pm on Sunday near Bir Shrestha Mostafa Kamal Bus Stand under Bhola Sadar Police Station, based on a tip-off.

During the drive, Coast Guard members detained Murad and seized approximately 1kg of marijuana, estimated to be worth Tk 40,000.

The accused and the seized drugs were handed over to Bhola Sadar Police Station for legal action.
