To honor the victims of the July-August 2024 uprising Bhola observed July Martyrs' Day on Thursday with solemn tributes and renewed demands for swift accountability.

The day’s commemorative events began at 10:30 a.m. with a wreath-laying ceremony at the July Martyrs' Memorial Monument, located within the Bhola Ghaznavi Stadium premises.

Following the tribute, a public discussion was held at the Zilla Parishad Auditorium at 12:45 p.m. Speakers reflected on the turbulent events of July and August 2024, highlighting the extraordinary courage demonstrated by students and ordinary citizens.

During the event, survivors of the uprising and family members of the martyrs strongly demanded a speedy and transparent trial for those responsible for the massacres.

The gathering was attended by prominent local figures, including Bhola Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shamim Rahman, Superintendent of Police Md. Shahidullah Kawsar, local political leaders, and the grieving families of the July warriors.
