July Martyrs' Day Observed with Prayers in Morelganj

To mark July Martyrs’ Day local officials and political leaders in Morelganj organized commemorative discussions, grave visitations, and special prayers on Thursday July 16.

The observances began at 11:00 AM with a memorial discussion hosted by the upazila administration. Presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Habibullah, the event brought together government officials and families of the victims. Key attendees included Assistant Commissioner (Land) Atish Sarkar, Upazila Engineer Md. Ariful Islam, Education Officer Khandaker Shefainur Arefin, and Md. Abdul Mannan Howlader, the father of July martyr Mahfuzur Rahman. The morning session concluded with prayers seeking eternal peace for the martyrs and a swift recovery for those injured.

Later, at 5:00 PM, Principal Md. Abdul Aleem, Member of Parliament for the Morelganj-Sharankhola constituency, visited the grave of martyr Mahfuzur Rahman in Amrbunia village to pay his respects. He was accompanied by local Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, including Upazila Ameer Prof. Maulana Md. Shahadat Hossain, Municipal Ameer Md. Rafiqul Islam, Prof. Shahidul Islam, and Prof. Md. Habibullah Talukder.
