


Iftar items, Eid gifts and cash assistance were distributed on Friday among the families of 10 people killed and four left disabled in a tragic road accident in Lohagara.
The victims were travelling from Kashipur Union to a divisional rally of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Khulna in 2010 when the accident occurred.
The programme included a discussion meeting and prayer mahfil, held at the residence of BNP leader AZM Fariduzzaman Farhad at 11:00 am. The meeting was chaired by Nazrul Islam Molly, Acting President of Lohagara Municipal BNP, and moderated by Acting General Secretary Shamsul Haque Azad.
Speakers included Supreme Court lawyer and BNP leader AZM Fariduzzaman Farhad, District BNP Organising Secretary Tipu Sultan, Upazila BNP Joint General Secretary Azizar Hossain, Municipal BNP Vice President SM Shahin Biplob, Jubo Dal President Khan Mahmud Alam, and Municipal Jubo Dal Senior Joint Convener Sohel Rana Laxmi, among others.
Local BNP, Jubo Dal, Mohila Dal and Chhatra Dal leaders and activists were also present.
After the discussion, organisers distributed iftar items, Eid gifts and cash among the affected families. A prayer meeting followed, seeking forgiveness for the deceased. The prayers were led by journalist Kazi Imran Hossain.
