


Iftar items have been distributed among 140 helpless, distressed, elderly and widowed families at the initiative of Zahura Foundation in Jumaikhiri village of Atgharia upazila of Pabna.
A program was organized on this occasion at the foundation's own office, Zahura Villa, on Wednesday at 11 am.
President of Zahura Foundation, former assistant professor of Pabna Medical College Dr. Rezaul Hasan presided over the program, and former principal of Pabna Government Women's College, educationist Professor Ahsan Habib, spoke as the chief guest.
Under the direction of Azizur Rahman, the foundation's chief coordinator and former upazila education officer, Acting principal of Pabna Government Women's College Professor Md. Ashraf Ali and assistant professor of the Department of Physics Firoz Hossain were present as special guests.
The invited guests at the event were Imdadul Haque Ranju, an expatriate from America, former engineer of LGED, and Arif Ahmed Siddiqui, a reporter for Daily Bangladesh Bulletin and Deepto Television.
The event was hosted by Sirajul Islam, a member of the foundation. People from different classes and professions of the area were present at the time.
The organizers said that iftar items were distributed among men and women of Jumaikhiri, Gobindapur, Gangarampur, Choubaria, Hidaskhol, Maheshpur, Dengargram and Pabna's Shalgaria areas.
Sayla Sultana, CEO of Zahoora Foundation, said that the foundation has been conducting various social activities since its establishment in 2020. Notable among these are the distribution of winter clothes, financial assistance to widows, widowers and the needy, medical assistance to the helpless, wheelchairs for the disabled, financial assistance to poor students, financial assistance for the marriage of poor children, free operations for cataract patients, distribution of iftar items, disaster relief, donations to religious institutions, distribution of clothes, and distribution of sacrificial meat.
