MP Shimul Biswas Urges Officials to Prioritize Public Service and Discipline

The newly elected Member of Parliament for Pabna Sadar, Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, has called for increased efficiency in government offices to reduce public suffering. He made these remarks during his first exchange of views with upazila administration officials and Union Parishad (UP) chairmen at the upazila auditorium on Monday.

During the meeting, officials welcomed the MP with flowers and discussed the various challenges they face in their roles. In response, MP Shimul Biswas assured them of his support while emphasizing the importance of a citizen-first approach.

"People visit government offices when they are in need. While you manage many responsibilities, you must ensure that citizens do not face undue hardship," he stated. "We must improve the pace of work by ensuring strict discipline in all official proceedings."

Addressing the UP chairmen, the MP highlighted the importance of transparency in distributing government aid. Referring to the upcoming second phase of family card allocations, he instructed representatives to ensure that benefits reach the truly underprivileged.

"The government provides support for the helpless. You must ensure these allocations reach the real beneficiaries without any political interference," he added, urging public representatives to maintain integrity regardless of political identity.

The meeting was attended by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Tamara Tasbiha, Sadar Police Station OC Dulal Hossain, and various departmental heads, including health, agriculture, and engineering officers. Former district BNP office secretary Zahurul Islam and AB Trust trustee Akhinur Islam Remon were also present.
