A Russian drone strike on a warehouse near Kyiv killed 37 people and injured 42, including four children with triggering fires and explosions in the Bucha district. Nearly 400 people were evacuated as search and rescue operations continued into Saturday morning according to regional governor Tymur Tkachenko.

Authorities have launched an investigation into whether ammunition was being stored at the site. President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed a probe into possible negligence with stating on X that regulations clearly prohibit storing ammunition near residential areas also adding that "appropriate conclusions will certainly be drawn." More than 300 emergency responders were deployed to the scene.

Russia's Ministry of Defence said it had targeted an ammunition depot in the village of Myla claiming it stored components for long-range drones.

In a separate attack in the Boryspil district a 14-year-old was killed. Zelensky reported additional overnight strikes across the Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia regions while Ukraine's military said it shot down 233 Russian drones overnight.

In Russia the officials reported two deaths and 21 injuries from Ukrainian strikes in the Belgorod and Rostov regions over the past 24 hours. Russian online retailer Ozon confirmed one of its logistics centers was hit in a Ukrainian drone strike, prompting the suspension of operations and evacuation of staff at a second site. Ukraine has targeted Ozon and rival retailer Wildberries in recent weeks also accusing them of supplying military components an allegation Moscow denies.

Russia's defence ministry also claimed its forces had captured three villages in Ukraine's Sumy and Donetsk regions and said it struck a Kyiv-region logistics site allegedly storing ballistic missile components.

Zelensky called for continued international support also thanking allies providing sanctions and aid packages against Russia.
