The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) raided the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) office in Chittagong on Monday following allegations of fund embezzlement.

An enforcement team from the ACC Integrated District Office-1 conducted the drive at the LGED office in the city's Sholashahar area. The action follows reports of major financial irregularities in development projects across Hathazari, Karnaphuli, and Anwara upazilas.

Subel Ahmed, Deputy Director of ACC Chittagong Integrated District Office-1, confirmed the raid. He stated that the operation targeted specific complaints regarding the misappropriation of project funds.

During the drive, investigators visited the Executive Engineer's office and questioned relevant officials. The team also summoned project records and official documents to verify transparency and fund utilization.

ACC sources said the collected documents and official statements will undergo a thorough review to identify those responsible for the alleged corruption. The enforcement team will submit a detailed investigation report to the commission shortly.
