


The new academic curriculum is being designed to make classroom learning the primary focus, significantly reducing students' reliance on coaching centers, Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon announced on Monday (June 15).
Speaking as the chief guest at the 'Primary Education Medal Competition 2026' in Mohammadpur, the minister also confirmed that this year’s SSC and equivalent exam results will be published by July 20. The HSC exam results will follow within two months.
Highlighting the record budget allocated to the education sector, Dr. Milon outlined the government's plan to eliminate session jams. By 2028, the ministry aims to ensure students can transition smoothly from college to university without long waiting periods after their exams.
To build a developed Bangladesh and convert the population into a skilled workforce, the government is prioritizing work-oriented learning. Construction on 329 new technical schools and colleges is currently underway and will be completed within the next two years.
"Time-honored and work-oriented education will be the main tool for the new generation," the minister said.
Dr. Milon also announced several upcoming student welfare initiatives:
Free School Dresses: A distribution program for students will launch in the last week of July.
Updated Textbooks: Revised textbooks will be delivered to all schools nationwide by December, ensuring students have them on the first day of the new academic year.
Co-curricular Focus: Education will extend beyond the four walls of the classroom, with special emphasis placed on extracurricular activities to support well-rounded development.
