The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has raised the price of a standard 12-kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder by Tk 70 for the month of August 2026.
Following the adjustment the retail price of the widely used 12-kg cylinder is now fixed at Tk 1598 up from the previous rate of Tk 1,528. This new consumer-level price which includes VAT takes effect at 6:00 PM on Sunday August 2 and will remain in place until further notice.
The BERC officially announced the updated pricing through a notification on Sunday. This hike directly impacts households across the country that rely on bottled LPG for daily cooking.
