For the first time in Bangladesh the government has introduced a transfer system for MPO-listed teachers working in private schools and colleges. Under the new Transfer Policy for MPO Teachers Working in Private Educational Institutions (Schools and Colleges) through Automatic Software-2026 eligible teachers will be able to apply online for transfers to vacant posts in institutions of their choice.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) will publish lists of vacant posts online each year before accepting transfer applications. Teachers must complete at least two consecutive years of service after their first appointment to become eligible. After a transfer they must again serve two years before applying for another transfer. A teacher may receive a maximum of three transfers during their career.

Applicants will first be allowed to seek transfers within their own district. If no suitable vacancy exists they may apply to another district within the same administrative zone. In special cases transfers may be requested to any district or to the district where a spouse works. When several teachers apply for the same post priority will be based on female applicants distance from the current workplace, spouse's workplace and seniority.

Each applicant may choose up to three preferred institutions. An institution can release a maximum of two teachers for transfer each year but not more than one teacher from the same subject.

The Director General of DSHE will oversee the transfer process through an automated system. Teachers will retain their MPO status financial benefits and seniority after transfer. However transfers are not guaranteed and no travel or daily allowances will be provided. Teachers facing suspension or criminal cases will not be eligible.

According to a DSHE official transfers will be allowed only against vacant posts and within the limits set by the policy.
