HSC Exams Resume in Flood-Hit Chittagong After Three-Week Halt

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations under the Chittagong Education Board resumed on Monday ending a nearly three-week suspension caused by severe floods and adverse weather.

Authorities halted all regional board exams on July 16 citing disrupted road networks and the severe physical and mental toll the post-flood devastation took on students. With conditions stabilizing, thousands of examinees have finally returned to the halls.

Meanwhile, exams across the country’s other nine general education boards as well as the Madrasa and Technical boards continued seamlessly under their previously announced schedules.

According to Monday's routine, morning shifts for the general boards began at 10:00 am with Civics and Good Governance (First Paper) Biology (First Paper) and Business Organisation and Management (First Paper). The Food and Nutrition (First Paper) exam is scheduled for the afternoon shift.

Simultaneously, Madrasa Board Alim candidates are sitting for Islamic History Physics (Second Paper) and Tajweed (Second Paper). Technical Education Board students are taking the Human Resource Management-I exam.

The resumption brings much-needed relief to students and guardians in the Chittagong region allowing candidates to safely complete their crucial academic milestones alongside their peers nationwide.
